The relationship between pressure and density for the propagation of a sound wave

Chapter 12, Problem 12.11

(choose chapter or problem)

The relationship between pressure and density for the propagation of a sound wave through a fluid is P - Po = E.ln (p/po) where Po and p0 are the reference pressure and density (constants) and E. is the bulk modulus of elasticity. Determine the equation for the speed of a sound wave in terms of E. and p. Calculate the sound speed for water with p = 1000 kglm3 and E.= 2.20 GN/m2 .
