RateMyProfessors.com Professors Theodore Coladarci and Irv Kornfield from the University of Maine found a correlation of 0.68 between responses to questions on the RateMyProfessors.com Web site and typical in-class evaluations. Use this correlation to make an argument in favor of the validity of RateMyProfessors.com as a legitimate evaluation tool. RateMyProfessors.com also has a chili pepper icon, which is meant to indicate a hotness scale for the professor. This hotness scale serves as a proxy for the sexiness of the professor. It was found that the correlation between quality and sexiness is 0.64. In addition, it was found that the correlationbetween easiness of the professor and quality is 0.85 for instructorswith at least 70 posts.
