One of the major issues that is secretly tearing, not only the country apart but the world is divorce. Some might think that divorce only effects the husband-wife (or respective partners), but in all actuality, it effects every one that encounters them on a daily basis; because each person’s demeaner changes and their mood plummets. If the couple has a kid(s) then it tears the kid apart and seemingly forces the kid to “pick a side” weather the parents like it or not. I personally have experienced this first hand, when my parents got divorced when I was three, luckily I did not remember the heated custody battles and the coping process that comes with divorce. However, I do witness the lasting effects that divorce has, and it can tear a kid apart. I believe that the counseling is not in place for marriages to last and to ease the transition from a happily married couple to a divorced one. I also feel as if the label of being married is becoming less and less meaningful than it used to be, in the sense that there is not always a true connection between the spouses as there once was; however positive strides have been made in including all types of marriage. The effect of divorce on a kid can be very detrimental to the success of the kid in the future, he/she can go down a path that is dark and broken, or they can choose to live a bright successful life.
