The iPhone 3G and 3GS by Apple utilizes a number of engineering materials

Chapter 1, Problem 1.22D

(choose chapter or problem)

The iPhone 3G and 3GS by Apple utilizes a number of engineering materials which reportedly include:

(a) glass, for the front display cover

(b) steel, for the outer perimeter edge trim piece

(c) plastic, for the molded rear back (glass in the iPhone \(4^{\circledR}\) for the back).

Review Section 1.3 of your textbook on Ecological Considerations with respect to the selection of materials with ecological factors in mind, review the environmental statement by Apple for the iPhone, and search the Internet for additional information, especially a report by Greenpeace. Then write a report with three references on the efforts by Apple to design and manufacture environmentally friendly products.
