For a vehicle moving at velocity, V, determine the powerin kW to overcome aerodynam-ic

Chapter 1, Problem 1.53

(choose chapter or problem)

For a vehicle moving at velocity, V, determine the power in kW to overcome aerodynamic drag. In general, the drag force, \(F_d\), imposed on a vehicle by the surrounding air is given by

                                                  \(F_d=  C_{d} A \frac{1}{2} \rho V^2\)

where \(C_d\) is a constant for the vehicle called the drag coefficient, A is the projected frontal area of the vehicle, and \(\rho\) is the air density. For this vehicle, \(C_d = 0.60, A = 10 \ \mathrm{m}^2, r = 1.1 \ \mathrm{kg/m}^2\), and V = 100 km/h.
