The crankshaft of a small punch press rotates 100 rpm, with the shaft torque
Chapter 1, Problem 1.67(choose chapter or problem)
The crankshaft of a small punch press rotates 100 rpm, with the shaft torque fluctuating between 0 and \(1000 \ \mathrm{N} \cdot \mathrm{m}\) in accordance with curve A of Figure P1.67. The press is driven (through a gear reducer) by a 1200-rpm motor. Neglecting friction losses, what motor power would theoretically be required:
(a) With a flywheel adequate to minimize speed fluctuations.
(b) With no flywheel.
