How great a reduction in the Figure 1.7 “road load” horsepower requirement would be necessary to enable a car with an “ideal” transmission to get 30 miles per gallon (mpg) at 70 mph? (Assume that the engine would have a minimum brake-specific fuel consumption of \(0.45 \ \mathrm{lb/hp} \cdot \mathrm{h}\), as shown in Figure 1.9.)
