Astroid (a) Consider the curve with equation x2/3 + y2/3 = 4. Find dy dx at (1, 3 _ 3)

Chapter 4, Problem 59

(choose chapter or problem)

Astroid (a) Consider the curve with equation x2/3 + y2/3 = 4. Find dy dx at (1, 3 _ 3). (b) Use a graphing calculator to graph the curve in (a). If the calculator cannot graph implicit functions, graph the upper and the lower halves of the curve separately. To get the left half of the graph, make sure that your calculator evaluates x2/3 in the order (x2)1/3. Choose the viewing rectangle 10 x 10, 10 y 10.
