Chapter 7, Problem 7.1.17

(choose chapter or problem)

1719 involve different Ferris wheels. Graph h = f(t) where h is the height above ground (in meters) at time t, in minutes. Label the period, the amplitude, and the midline for each graph. In each case, first determine an appropriate interval for t, with t 0.A Ferris wheel is 20 meters in diameter and boarded from a platform that is 4 meters above the ground. The six oclock position on the Ferris wheel is level with the loading platform. The wheel completes one full revolution every 2 minutes. At t = 0 you are in the twelve oclock position. You then make two complete revolutions and any additional part of a revolution needed to return to the boarding platform.
