The cost of denim fabric is directly proportional to the amount that you buy. Let C(x) be the cost, in dollars, of x yards of denim fabric. (a) Write a formula for the cost, C(x), in terms of x. Your answer will contain a constant, k. (b) A particular type of denim costs $28.50 for 3 yards. Find k and rewrite the formula for C(x) using it. (c) Graph C(x). (d) How much does it cost to buy 5.5 yards of denim?
