Chapter 7, Problem 7.24

(choose chapter or problem)

Show that with Re included, and v limited to a maximum value v , the maximum allowable input signal, vsig, is given by vsig = v 1+ Re re + Rsig r If the transistor is biased at IC = 0.5 mA and has a of 100, what value of Re is needed to permit an input signal vsig of 100 mV from a source with a resistance Rsig = 10 k while limiting v to 10 mV? What is Rin for this amplifier? If the total resistance in the collector is 10 k, what Gv value results?
