Chapter 10, Problem 10.48

(choose chapter or problem)

It is required to analyze the high-frequency response of the CMOS amplifier shown in Fig. P10.34 for the case Rsig = 0. The dc bias current is 100 A. For Q1, nCox = 90 A/V2 , VA = 12.8 V, W/L = 100 m/1.6 m, Cgs = 0.2 pF, Cgd = 0.015 pF, and Cd b = 20 fF. For Q2, Cgd = 0.015 pF, Cd b = 36 fF, and VA = 19.2 V. For simplicity, assume that the signal voltage at the gate of Q2 is zero. Find the low-frequency gain, the frequency of the pole, and the frequency of the zero. (Hint: The total capacitance at the output mode = Cd b1 +Cd b2 +Cgd2).
