Gene Transfer and GMOs. In some cases, organisms can transferentire genes to other organisms. This fact causes some people toworry that organisms that we have genetically engineeredcommonly referred to as GMOs, for genetically modifiedorganismsmay transfer their genes to other organisms inunexpected ways. For example, a crop engineered with agene that gives it resistance to some pest may transfer itsgene to weeds, giving them the same resistance. Discuss howGMOs might affect other organisms.
