Albinism refers to the congenital disorder where the skin or hair of an individual lacks pigment or is partially present. A person suffering from albinism encounters multiple vision problems, which include nystagmus, photophobia. Due to the absence of skin pigment, people suffering from this condition are at more risk of skin cancers. This disorder occurs when there is a defect in the enzyme tyrosinase. Tyrosinase is crucial for melanin production.
