Chapter 11, Problem 11.3.2

(choose chapter or problem)

The boundary-value problem y = y + 2y + cos x, 0 x 2 , y(0) = 0.3, y 2 = 0.1 has the solution y(x) = 1 10 (sin x + 3 cos x). Use the Linear Finite-Difference method to approximate the solution, and compare the results to the actual solution, a. with h = 4 ; b. with h = 8 . c. Use extrapolation to approximate y(/4).
