The town historian records the population at the end of each year.In 2000 (n 5 0),the population was 5,300.If this decrease continued,what would have been the population,to the nearest hundred,in 2008 (n 5 8)? (Use Pn 5 P0(1 1 r)n where P0 is the population when n 5 0, Pn is the population in n years,and r is the rate of change.)
