Solved: Extended Mean Value Theorem In Exercises 9194, apply the Extended Mean Value

Chapter 8, Problem 94

(choose chapter or problem)

Extended Mean Value Theorem In Exercises 91-94, apply the Extended Mean Value Theorem to the functions f and g on the given interval. Find all values in the interval (a,b) such that

\(\frac{f^{\prime}(c)}{g^{\prime}(c)}=\frac{f(b)-f(a)}{g(b)-g(a)}\)

Function                                        Interval

\(f(x)=\ln x, \quad g(x)=x^{3}\)                        [1, 4]

Text Transcription:

f’(c)/g’(c)=f(b)-f(a)/g(b)-g(a)

f(x)=ln x, g(x)=x^3
