Solution : (a) the mass of fluorine per gram of iodine in each compound : Compound 1 : = 0.7494g of F Thus,1g of I contains 0.7494g of F Compound 2 : = 0.4489g of F Thus,1g of I contains 0.4489g of F Compound 3 : = 1.0478g of F Thus,1g of I contains 1.0478g of F We divide the obtained results by the smallest number to obtain the integers . Here the smallest number among the results obtained is 0.4489. Therefore, = 1.66g = 1g = 2.33g The results obtained after dividing each form smallest number is still in decimal form, so we multiply each result by 3 to get integers, as 3 is the lowest integer which could be multiplied to get a whole number....
