A voltaic cell employs the following redox reaction: Sn2+(aq) + Mn(s) h Sn(s) + Mn2+(aq)

Chapter 18, Problem 73

(choose chapter or problem)

A voltaic cell employs the following redox reaction:

      \(\mathrm{Sn}^{2+}(a q)+\mathrm{Mn}(s) \longrightarrow \mathrm{Sn}(s)+\mathrm{Mn}^{2+}(a q)\)

Calculate the cell potential at \(25\ ^{\circ}\mathrm{C}\) under each set of conditions.

a. standard conditions

b. \(\left[\mathrm{Sn}^{2+}\right]=0.0100\mathrm{M};\ \left[\mathrm{Mn}^{2+}\right]=2.00\mathrm{M}\)

c. \(\left[\mathrm{Sn}^{2+}\right]=2.00\mathrm{M};\ \left[\mathrm{Mn}^{2+}\right]=0.0100\mathrm{M}\)
