The chemical symbol of an element comes from the first one or two letters of their chemical name. (a) sulfur The chemical name is sulfur. So, the chemical symbol will be S . (b) gold, The chemical name of gold is Aurum which comes from latin name. So, the chemical symbol of gold will be Au. (c) potassium The chemical name of Potassium is Kalium which comes from Neo-Latin name. So, the chemical symbol of potassium will be K. (d) chlorine The chemical name is chlorine . So, the chemical symbol will be Cl. (e) copper, The chemical name of copper is Cuprum which comes from Latin name. So, the chemical symbol of copper will be Cu. (f) U U is the chemical symbol of chemical element Uranium. (g) Ni, Ni is the chemical symbol of chemical element which has chemical name Nickel. (h) Na. Na is chemical symbol of element which has chemical name sodium. Sodium(Na) generally comes from the latin name Natrium. (i) Al, Al is the chemical symbol of chemical element which has chemical name Aluminium. (j) Si. Si is the chemical symbol of chemical element which has chemical name Silicon.
