The upper leg muscle (quadriceps) exerts a force of 1250 N, which is carried by a tendon over the kneecap (the patella) at the angles shown in Figure 9.39. Find the direction and magnitude of the force exerted by the kneecap on the upper leg bone (the femur).
Hello, my name is Katelynn Farmer, and I am going to be a sophomore this fall at Wayne State University. I am studying biomedical physics and my hope is to spend all four years of my undergraduate degree and my fifth year for my Biomedical Engineering degree at Wayne State since I have begun to really enjoy this school. I am also staying on campus in order to be near my classes and provide less distractions from my studies. After I finish my undergraduate degree my plan is to go to medical school and work towards becoming a pediatric surgeon. Going into my first year of college was a new experience that I wasn't completely prepared for. I still plan to continue studying at Wayne State though because I really have enjoyed my first year and would like to continue going to Wayne State. My final year of high school included calculus which because of it being my senior year, the class ended early and we did not finish out the lessons. When I started my first year at Wayne State I took calculus one but didn't get the greatest grade. I hadn't realized how much I was struggling until I got my first test grade back. Because of how easy high school had been for me, I never developed structured study skills. I also did not know that the math resource center was something I could use, or even where it was located. This low grade caused my gpa to drop significantly. Since I wanted to keep on schedule with my degree plan, I took calculus two the following winter. I had learned about the math resource center and managed to even get a 94 on
