Chapter 5, Problem 27

(choose chapter or problem)

In 24–34, \(F_{0}, F_{1}, F_{2}\), . . . is the Fibonacci sequence.

Prove that \(F^{2}_{k} − F^{2}_{k−1} = F_{k} F_{k−1} − F_{k+1}F_{k−1}\), for all integers k ≥ 1.

Text Transcription:

F_0, F_1, F_2

F^2_k − F^2_k−1 = F_k F_k−1 − F_k+1F_k−1
