Let A be the set of all straight lines in the Cartesian plane. Define a relation

Chapter 8, Problem 32

(choose chapter or problem)

Let A be the set of all straight lines in the Cartesian plane. Define a relation \(\|\) on A as follows:

For all \(l_{1} \text { and } l_{2}\) in A, \(l_{1} \| l_{2} \Leftrightarrow l_{1} \text { is parallel to } l_{2}\).

Then \(\|\), is an equivalence relation on A. Describe the equivalence classes of this relation.
