Answer: a) Find an expression for the equivalent resistance of two resistors of value R

Chapter 3, Problem 3.11

(choose chapter or problem)

a) Find an expression for the equivalent resistance of two resistors of value R in parallel.

b) Find an expression for the equivalent resistance of n resistors of value R in parallel.

c) Using the results of (a), design a resistive network with an equivalent resistance of \(5 \ \mathrm{k} \Omega\) using two resistors with the same value from Appendix H.

d) Using the results of (b), design a resistive network with an equivalent resistance of \(4 \ \mathrm{k} \Omega\) using a minimum number of identical resistors from Appendix H.
