The cantilever beam shown consists of a Z shape of 1 4-in.

Chapter 6, Problem 6.87

(choose chapter or problem)

The cantilever beam shown consists of a Z shape of \(\frac{1}{4}\)-in. thickness. For the given loading, determine the distribution of the shearing stresses along line \(A^\prime B^\prime\) in the upper horizontal leg of the Z shape. The \(x^\prime\) and \(y^\prime\) axes are the principal centroidal axes of the cross section, and the corresponding moments of inertia are \(I_{x^{\prime}}=166.3~ \mathrm{in}^{4}\) and \(I_{y^{\prime}}=13.61~ \mathrm{in}^{4}\).
