Chapter 21, Problem 70

(choose chapter or problem)

Calculate the electric fields in Example 21.2 directly, using the superposition principle and integration. Consider the shell to be composed of charge elements that are coaxial rings, whose axes pass through the field point, which is a distance r from the center. (Hint: Consult Example 20.6. Youll have to evaluate the cases r 6 R and r 7 R separately.)
