A magnetic dipole m ! = mni is on the axis of a circular current loop of radius a oriented as shown in Fig. 26.17a, a distance x from the center. Differentiate Equation 26.16 to find the force on the dipole, and evaluate its magnitude for x = a. Is the force attractive or repulsive?
