A particle of mass m is in a region where its total energy E is less than its potential energy U. Show that the Schrdinger equation has nonzero solutions of the form Ae { 12m1U-E2x/U . Such solutions describe the wave function in quantum tunneling, beyond the turning points in a quantum harmonic oscillator, or beyond the well edges in a finite potential well.
