Use the radial probability density from Equation 36.5 and the normalized ground-state hydrogen wave function from Equation 36.3 and Example 36.1 to calculate the average radial distance rav for an electron in the ground state. (Note: Because the probability-density curve isnt symmetric, the average radial distance isnt the same as the most probable distance shown in Fig. 36.3.)
