Consider the flow of air through a wind turbine whoseblades sweep an area of diameter D

Chapter 1, Problem 1-59

(choose chapter or problem)

Consider the flow of air through a wind turbine whoseblades sweep an area of diameter D (in m). The average airvelocity through the swept area is V (in m/s). On the bases ofthe units of the quantities involved, show that the mass flowrate of air (in kg/s) through the swept area is proportional toair density, the wind velocity, and the square of the diameterof the swept area.
