APPROACH

There is a counterclockwise torque due to the force of gravity on the left block, and a clockwise torque due to the force of gravity on the right block. By taking counterclockwise as positive, the torque acting on the point of support is given by product of weight of the either block and the distance from the axis to the point of application of the force.
