Chapter 13, Problem 13.133

(choose chapter or problem)

In an industrial process, products of combustion at atemperature and pressure of 2000 K and 1 atm, respectively, flow through a long, 0.25-m-diameterpipe whose inner surface is black. The combustion gas contains CO2and water vapor, each at a partialpressure of 0.10 atm. The gas may be assumed tohave the thermophysical properties of atmosphericair and to be in fully developed flow withm.?0.25 kg/s. The pipe is cooled by passing water incross flow over its outer surface. The upstreamvelocity and temperature of the water are 0.30 m/sand 300 K, respectively. Determine the pipe walltemperature and heat flux. Hint:Emission from thepipe wall may be neglected.
