In each case, try to estimate geometrically the eigenvalues and eigenvectorsand make your guesses for the eigenvaluesconsistent with the trace of the matrix. Use MATLABto compute the eigenvalues and eigenvectorsof the sixth matrix by setting[X, D] = eig([0.25, 0.75 ; 1, 0.50 ])The column vectors of X are the eigenvectors of thematrix and the diagonal entries of D are the eigenvalues.Check the eigenvalues and eigenvectors ofthe other two matrices in the same way.
