Problem 82

What is the kinetic energy of (a) an electron having amomentum of 40 GeV/c? (b) a proton having a momentumof 40 GeV/c?

Step-by-Step Solution:
Step 1 of 3

To Test the Value of Gravitational Acceleration at Earth’s Surface Mennum Subba Saint Cloud State University Abstract When the object is freely falling under the influence of gravity, it is freefall. This experiment is done to calculate the value of gravitational acceleration on a body at earth’s surface under the interval of time with the same frequency.Acceleration due to gravity is not affected by mass, shape, position, temperature and pressure but affected by air resistance and other external forces. We calculated the mean value of acceleration due gravity or freefall as 974.1783 cm/s and its standard deviation is 0.8436567 cm/s and an error analysis of 0.59405102%. Therefore, we calculated the acceleration due to gravity on an object which had a little error. Purpose An object is affected by the acceleration due to gravity which is calculated by calculating the average distance and average velocity. We found that acceleration due to gravity varies over different parts of the world as the distance of the surface from the sea level is different. This implies that a body feels different gravitational acceleration in different parts of the world. Methods We took an iron nail and a wooden apparatus. The wooden apparatus was connected with the electric current which was passed from the top of metal bearing. When the button was pressed, iron nail fell which produced spark from the electric current that made dot in the paper at an interval of time. Then, the dotted point at the paper was taken out and measured by the ruler
