How do you reconcile the fact that the probabilitydensity for the ground state of the quantum harmonicoscillator (Figure 6.10c) has its peak at the center andits minima at its ends, whereas the classical harmonicoscillators probability density (Figure 6.11) has aminimum at the center and peaks at each end? If youdo this experiment with an actual mass and spring,what experimental result for its position distributionwould you expect to obtain? Why?
