Dr Aanerud was a great professor. Extremely helpful and fun! Tests are easy and if you attend lecture, youll get a good grade. You can tell that she really loves what she does, and wants everyone to learn and be excited about the material. Looking forward to taking more classes with her! ...Continue reading

Her lectures are very helpful, but a bit boring. You need to read the textbooks to do well on the quizzes, though not so much on the tests. She doesn't grade on a curve. I didn't open my textbooks once for the last half of the quarter (after the midterm) and I didn't read the novel and I passed the final with a ninety. If you go to lecture she goes over the ideas behind the reading anyways. She shares personal stories that relate to material which was helpful. ...Continue reading

Prof. Aanerud is one of the most engaging professors I've had at UW. She makes lecture so fun and you can tell she's passionate about what she teaches. Prof. Aanerud really cares about whether her students are learning or not. The textbook really only comes in handy for sections, in which there are weekly quizzes on reading. ...Continue reading

Becky is a wonderful teacher, who makes all of her classes fun and interesting. She makes the class very interesting whether or not you have a prior interest in GWSS. She's very helpful, the class is definitely an easy class. I never studied for the midterm or the final and got a 96% on the midterm and a 100% on the final. Just go to class and you'll be set. Her lectures are interesting and worth going to. My only complaint about the class was my TA. The Friday sections are mandatory, making it hard to avoid wasting that time. The exams are easy, however the written assignments are graded on a how you improved scale which was rather ambiguous. But overall a great class! ...Continue reading

One of the best professors I have ever had. Regina is a passionate professor who really cares about what she's teaching. Although she is an effective instructor her views are strong and she doesn't do a great job of keeping her own opinions out of her lectures. If you're looking for an introductory class to feminism I definitely recommend this one! ...Continue reading

She has got to the absolutely most condescending person I have come across in my life, and I would never take her (or one of her classes) ever again. was very specific about her expectations. lecture was always engaging, she knows what she's talking about. highly recommended Get ready for political correctness and my opinion rules and is better than anyone else's through the entire quarter. ...Continue reading

She's an interesting professor and loves what she's teaching, however, she assigns way too many readings per night. If you are diligent and read the rubrics for assignments, you'll be fine. If you aren't happy with your grade, she is willing to talk about it. She expects people to do their best and it was an absolute pleasure to learn from her. ...Continue reading

I loved this class and I learned so much. gives space for people who aren't quite caught up with the main concepts of the class (intersectional racismmisogyny etc) to learn but still takes no bs. great class discussions. poses lots of broad questions to direct the lecture that are helpful overall. basically just a super intelligent cool lady. go to class. ...Continue reading

She's awesome, funny and brings deep insights to academic fields! 2 hours is not enough time and it always flies by. PLEASE TAKE HER. You will do some reading, you will have a group project, its COLLEGE. I am not sure why so many people on here are whining about it. She is so organized with her material and presents everything so eloquently. AMAZING CLASS. Dr. Lee is an incredibly good speaker and really gets you to think. She really listens and analyzes everything you say when you talk to her one-on-one. Her office hours really help. She was a tough grader, but I'd totally take a class from her again. She's ok. The class could be structured much better to make things more clear and enjoyable because the heart of the material is very interesting. Let me just say that I loved the content of the class and I was really motivated to get to know the material, but there was just way too much assigned reading. If you're interested in taking GWSS 200 do NOT take it with Regina Lee. Very bad attitude and is not open at all to others opinions. Dr. Lee turned what I hoped would be an eye opening class to an unbearable one. ...Continue reading

I have taken several classes with Dr. Lee, as there aren't too many profs in the dept. Lectures are virtually useless, and consist mostly of clicker questions and failed sassy jokes/comments. The readings are really intense, and the final depends heavily on remembering them all. She has trouble reigning in her opinion and attitude. GWSS 200 was very enjoyable, so I sought out another from her - discovered that she is a /very/ subjective grader, a huge fan of group projects, and she won't accept dr.'s notes for missed pop quizzes. Worst professor I've had so far at UW. Avoid at all costs. ...Continue reading

Took this class my first quarter and it almost convinced me never to take humanities/GWSS again. I like the way she lectures, but there are a TON of readings, which are easy to not do until you realize that you need to be familiar with all of them for the final if you want to pass. Your grade is based on a few things, and will suffer more than you think if you miss a few classes and/or quiz sections. She assigns way too many readings and the final is based on all of the readings. You have to do a group paper, which is very stupid. She is also a really tough grader. She is amazing. She is very respectful towards all students and really understands the material she teaches. I took GWSS 200 with her and had a great time. It is a lot of reading, but for the most part the textbook is engaging. I'd definitely recommend this class to everyone. Swarr makes it very easy to understand the concepts introduced in the textbook and uses many different kinds of examples to get the message across. Swarr and all the TAs really care about making it a good learning environment and really listen to the feedback given. Also, this class is really great to take no matter the major. ...Continue reading

This class is absolutely terrible. Nina speaks too softly and reads everything in a monotone voice straight from a piece of paper.
