Overall great school! Small class sizes, good professors, tech savy campus. The school does lack in study spaces and affordable food around campus. Also doesn't have the most obviously exciting campus life, but there's always stuff going on in the surrounding area if you look for it! I like that it's not too large or intimidating like most universities and you can connect on a friendship level with TA's and professors. ...Continue reading

Wish there was better more affordable food on campus The Library and Computer Commons is usually packed and most of the study rooms around campus is usually booked or taken. -The food service isn't diverse. -On campus help is always present for tough courses, along side prof and TA is always happy to help. The downtown campus... not so much ...Continue reading

Overall, okay school. Not a university city as the locals may still be warming to the idea of a university (and thousands of youth) in their backyard. School under constant physical construction/growth gives a great perception of what the university is about all-around at present. No healthy food options, especially if you are a vegetarian. ...Continue reading

The downtown campus is secluded and cut off from the rest of the school. The Libray is quite small but there are quiet rooms. Getting food is a hassle especially during winter (not a variety). Most of my classes are at Regent Theatre (they don't let you in 15 mins before class even if it is raining, extra hot or very cold out. Overall it is disappointing. ...Continue reading

Great school for especially engineering and technology. Drawback: Students in downtown campus don't get to use facilities in main campus yet have to pay for it. But very satisfied with education I'm receiving. Love the small class-size and I find most professors to be approachable and knowledgeable. Would love to see UOIT expanding. Very good for a new school. No regrets! ...Continue reading

campus is small, such a money grab forcing you to pay for a useless brick of a laptop. Also, be wary of the laptop program. The campus is new so some of the amenities (food, extra curricular, etc.) aren't as top notch as at other schools. I would say that UOIT is at least on par if not slightly better than OttawaU, yet is typically ranked worse. It's a tough school in general - the acceptance criteria is low because they want your money, but they just cull aggressively in years 1 and 2 of typical undergrads.
