NOT worth the money (don't be fooled by scholarship check %) their credits don't transfer. Professors are cool but the admin is very meh. Super boring on-campus but luckily you're surrounded by downtown, Galleria, malls, restaurants, etc. Business school is kinda understaffed but HBU has good connections for internships. Disappointed with it but honestly don't mind HBU that much. Houston Baptist may not look like it offers much when compared to A&M, TCU, or Texas, but it has a great Christian community, rigorous course work, and challenging professors. ...Continue reading

I am a Graduate student in the MSHRM program. Professors are knowledgable and care about their students. Overall, however, I feel that the courses are not challenging enough. The facilities are subpar and the campus does not feel very safe. I would rate my experience at HBU 6/10. ...Continue reading

HBU has top of the line professors, and engaging classes that supplement one's mind. the learning environment is amazing and I love the one on one teacher to student relationship they have. Overall a great place to learn and get an education. They just settled with the insurance company, so repairs should be back on track. Until then however, we're without a good group meeting place. ...Continue reading

Awful. The professors are very difficult and do not seem to care much or help you out. Not all, but many of them. Advisors are okay, but make it seem as if everything will be fine when it actuality it isn't. I miss HBU and grateful for my time there (5 semesters), but glad I left for better things. ...Continue reading

After 3 years here I can say with certainty that I regret coming here. The tuition is insane yet none of the money we pay goes to anything useful. The teachers are very meh, the dorms are terrible and almost everything is run by students who don't know what they're doing. There is always a lack of communication on the staffs end. Waste of money. Get out as soon as possible. The only reason to stay is if your a bio, bio-chem, pre-med, or nursing. But even then SERIOUSLY consider other options. ...Continue reading

Houston Baptist University is great- when it comes to professors. Half the clubs they list are fully inactive or active but don't actually do anything. The food is really not that bad. The class sizes are nice because you can actually know the professors. Also DO NOT join the Honors College. It screws you credits and schedule-wise. Very disappointing. ...Continue reading

This school is NOT worth the money. I have no respect for the administration. The higher ups run a business & the Christian principles that they claim to operate on are nowhere in their decision making process. My professors have become my family. The admin staff have left a sour taste in my mouth. So ready to leave. The teachers that I have had have been mediocre. They staff do not help all. They charged me for a scheduling mistake that my professor made. I have had the worst college experience ever here. I am extremely disappointed. ...Continue reading

Small classes, so all the teachers know your name, its not a party school you'll have to go off campus for all of that. HBU is a small school that doesn't get as much recognition as it should, but it does it's job. Classes are taught in a Christian setting, but the christian mindset doesn't take over and blur the facts in classes such as those in science. The faculty, staff, and student body are super friendly. ...Continue reading

If you are Christian, you will love HBU, along with its Wednesday convocations. Will give you a great background in the liberal arts and Christianity.
