Absolutely love it here! I transferred from LSU and can say that UH has not been a downgrade in any way other than the amount of students attending the university. We're a school that is continually growing and improving. I wasn't excited about going here, but things changed when I got on campus and I'm now happy to call UH my home. Make sure you get involved and take advantage of all UH has to offer! ...Continue reading

Great community of passionate individuals that make you happy to be there There's no doubt about that. The majority of the people that attend here live close, whether it be their own place or family's. The internet is a common issue, but it's solid in most parts of campus. Plenty to do around campus, and the organizations on campus are amazing. Now if they could only fix the roads... We are constantly growing and currently transitioning out of being a commuter school. Houston is a unique place and a wonderfulplace for opportunity. Greek life at UH is minimal, which I love. Extremely diverse and just a wonderful place and atmosphere. The campus is beautiful and under construction. GREAT SCHOOL ...Continue reading

Overall, I am very satisfied with this university. It may not have all that recognition but it is definitely getting there. The University is close to many large institutions and companies making it easier for students to build connections. Big projects are going on campus and looking at the potential in this Uni, you can tell a fabulous campus is about to emerge. It may border the 3rd Ward but a big police force keeps the campus safe. Also, the 3rd Ward's far from the nearest building past the stadium and across Scott St. UH is a safe campus with same crime rate as any major U. The idiot saying its dangerous because people have been robbed. That happens everywhere!!! ...Continue reading

If you are a female do not take classes after 5-6pm safer during the earlier hours unless you have friends you take classes with and walk with you to your car. How would a school of over 30000 students use only one floor as a computer lab out of 8 floors available&#63 Also as a soccer fan, I am upset UH do not have a male soccer team that can compete at the NCAA level, I would have loved it. Overall, it is great for its diversity and competiveness. Needs more parking since it's majority commuter students and the dining halls are kinda gross most days. Great campus. Great for commuters, seeing as most students are locals. Enough older students attend to not make you feel weird if you're starting school late. This school is really really nice. It gives students the opportunity to discover themselves from within. It has a variety of clubs and organizations as well as a colossal number of majors. The location is not the best, but the campus itself disregards the downside of the area. I got to meet a lot of people from all around the world. However, if you hate traffic, love campus spirit, and love good food then this is not the place for you. They try to build the on campus life, but it really hasn't gone off yet. Overall it's a great campus, we are one of the most diverse universities in the nation. Professor Hwang was one of the coolest teachers I had. This class isn't all that tech savy. Took his hybrid course not knowing a thing about developing websites but it was a very easy class. Show up and follow directions for the assignments. 1 midterm which is straight from the review. Final straight from the review AND you take it at home ...Continue reading

Dr. Rab is one of the nicest professors I've had and always willing to work with you if you have questions on any assignments. 3350 is a heavy workload class, but she made it manageable and gave us days when we'd have normal lecture to work on our assignments instead. ...Continue reading

She is the least professional professor I have ever had. She doesn't respond to emails or blackboard messages, gave very little guidance in her assignments, and didn't grade anything until after midterms (after several of my classmates reported her for it), and even then only gave comments like good or great. I wish I could get my money back. ...Continue reading

Farmer is my favorite professor, she is amazing and makes her lectures relatable and humorous. 4 Tests. Easy grade Teamwork Assignments Clicker Q's. Read over her Lecture notes and do the HW, all helpful for her tests. Sends out a review a few days before the exam. You'll pass easily w/ the notes and practice memorizing vocab. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Class is as easy or as hard as you make it. Farmer has a passion for her content and cares about you passing. Gives easy extra cred that can raise your final average a whole letter grade! As a graduate student I'd say this was a fair class and the professor stands out from others. Bad reviews must have wanted to be spoon fed. ...Continue reading

Chalam is a great professor and realizes that some topics in SCM are quite boring, so he attempted to make things more interesting by adding in videos and real life experiences. Favorite professor I have had at UH. He doesn't put up with disrespect or slackers. The only hw you have is a weekly learnsmart, and studying for 1-2 quizzes in the semester along with the tests. Not a great teacher, she just teaches material that was rarely on the quizzes or tests. She uses many charts and rambles to the point where she is just trying to take up time. Carrasquillo spends most of his lecture doing a few things: I literally just dropped his class. He's a smart guy, just doesn't teach well in my opinion. His lectures are okay, sometimes very helpful and sometimes very confusing. The grading scale is crazy but so are all of the science classes.
