Overall, UNM is a good school to get your undergrad done at. If you don't know what you're doing, it's difficult. If you do, and are driven, it opens up and the word university gets a whole new meaning. CAPS is free, you can sneak into the piano rooms, the library is great, the teachers are wonderfully helpful. It can be really hard to make friends. ...Continue reading

It's a great campus and at times can be very underrated. I've definitely changed my tune since moving here. The people are surprisingly liberal and fun, and the professors really seem to care about their students for the most part. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved and the campus emphasizes morals and maturity. Love the atmosphere and the beautiful campus. ...Continue reading

My experience at UNM has been amazingly bad. So if you get a 3.995, you really have a 3.99. The school is located in a mountain valley area, so it gets very windy and cold here. The english and math departments are at a lower standard because of the local population's incoming test scores. The degree-granting colleges have a simplistic plan. Just meh. ...Continue reading

My UNM experience was amazing. The school definitely has its draw backs, but it is a great place for film students. Your email will repeatedly get messages looking for students to help work on indie films. The tuition is something to keep an eye on, it is constantly rising. ...Continue reading

I love UNM! Although UNM is different from the schools in the Midwest, it is not necessarily a bad thing. All of my professors know me by name and all have a lot of office hours. The campus is unique and beautiful, and the weather is amazing! (especially compared to the Midwest). I love UNM! Albuquerque is beautiful and the university itself has a midtown feel not to busy but not to backwater. Great degree programs its a great place! Everyone's a Lobo!! ...Continue reading

UNM students like to hate on their school, but in all honesty, it's not so bad. Just like any university, there are good and bad professors, nice and not-so-nice people, cool and boring classes, etc. It is what you make of it coming to UNM with a positive, open-minded attitude will ensure that your experience here is fulfilling and memorable. Other departments are filled by lemmings. ...Continue reading

The professors are great and has a good variety in classes. My biggest issue are the cliques and terrible bureaucracy. The past 4 semesters I registered late because they froze my account for dumb reasons owed $0.00, they lost 2 HS transcripts then accused me of not graduating HS. Socially its cliquey. Most people have had the same circle since HS. Oh well, its free! Gotta love the lottery! ...Continue reading

UNM is often overlooked because people harp on negative aspects but, there are plenty of factors that make me love being a Lobo. The weather is great and ABQ is an amazing city, if you try to see it that way. The Duck Pond is an awesome place to relax and the campus is filled with cool sights and spots. UNM is certainly an experience. They need to improve student safety and the protection of vehicles in the south parking lot. There are more professors as CNM with Doctorates than at UNM and often you will be taught by someone working on their masters degree as a way to pay for their schooling. This leads to subpar instruction. I regularly see advisors wasting their time and having a lot of down time on campus, and many professors are no better. NEVER go into International Studies. Its ok? Albuquerque is a weird, but charming big/little city just all around. UNM has a sketchy area on the Central side, but that's also where all of the good restaurants are. The campus is very easy to navigate, pretty, and the professors are actually all pretty decent, with only a few bad ones. Best in New Mexico without a doubt. I like it and think it's very underrated. We could make it better though. ...Continue reading

The reputation among those who don't attend, it's pretty low. It is beautiful, great gym, helpful services, and engaged teachers who care about their student. I am now at an elite private and wish I would have stayed for my masters. OHHH and it is a GREAT price. I think the fact that it is a dry campus really hurts the sense of community, as the place is dead after office hours. ...Continue reading

Located in the ghetto, UNM has some weird charm. I enjoy the school, environment and professors. Campus is kind big but easy to navigate, the duck pond is a great place to hag out in warm weather. Parking is a nightmare, but that's probably the only real complaint I have. ...Continue reading

As someone who isn't from here, I can say that I love Albuquerque. So far, it's been a great experience. With that said, UNM has a lot to offer for the community and it is a wonderful school to be at if: you care for diversity, liberal environment, sciences, nurse school, engineer and foreign languages. The food outside campus is great, and culture is appreciated here. ...Continue reading

I like it if your in state its actually a great school has a lot of opportunities and it isn't that expensive. The graduation rate is abysmal. ...Continue reading

Many of the labs require you to buy materials that you may not actually have laying around your house as the professor claims. You have to make sure that you give the answer that she has in her head. DO NOT GO OFF SCRIPT!! Some of the quizzes, had the wrong answers, make sure to double check everything!! It seems as though her ego gets in the way of letting the students learn. I'm taking the class to learn, not be tricked. Watch out! ...Continue reading

I had her for both Chem I and Chem II. You have to take time out of class to study. The test reviews are extremely helpful. Make sure to attend tutoring sessions. This class is not easy but it is manageable if you make the effort to do well. The instructor wants her students to do well. If yare confused you must speak up or seek help.
