Dirty, and scary here. I am part of the CMSC program and I must say it is fun and manageable depending on the professor's you take. UMD is okay. Their admin staff aren't helpful at all & expect to be treated like a number. Job prospects are good if you're trying to go to one of the Big 4 & sales positions, nothing really past that. Study hard. A group of familiar faces on such a huge campus can be a great thing. Maryland is pretty bureaucratic and does a great job of taking advantage of their students. You WILL be treated like a number. Don't expect sympathy or even assistance from the majority of administration. ...Continue reading

Great school, lots of opportunities!! Well known, and highly ranked. Looks good on paper, however in person its very different. Difficult to take advantage of academic opportunities, likes to put students in specific boxes (programs), hard to graduate in 4 years. Overall it's on par public ed, but definitely not without large flaws. This campus is so awesome, there are so many opportunities available to students, all of the colleges are pretty stellar when it comes to academics and the social life on the weekends (and tuesdaysthursdays) is to be rivaled.
