The University of Texas at Austin is one of the greatest research institutions in the nation. I'm in a spirit group and I feel connected to campus and know a lot of people who are involved in something or other. I feel like I'm surrounded by opportunities as an engineering student for research and Austin has a lot of tech companies and startups to get involved with. I feel safe all around campus but less so in West Campus. ...Continue reading

It is a great school!!! It depends on the person to make the best of it. Clubs may not be a BIG deal on campus, but there is a great selection to choose from if that is what you're looking for. Austin as a town is absolutely enchanting and definitely worth exploring in your downtime - and not just 6th street (which is also great). ...Continue reading

very difficult school but worth it. Classes are hard and they definitely try to weed out those who are not serious. However, most professors I've had are very inspiring and passionate about their field. Endless opportunities here, so many things to do no matter what you're interested in. You will recieve an Ivy League education at a state school price (for Texas residence). More than this, you will be forced to practice your social skills, as you will be sharing a campus with close 55,000 students. The school is also committed to students access to their professors. Austin is the best city around I rep UT CNS all day and everyone looks at me like I'm crazy. Great school with a very good education! Hook Em! ...Continue reading

Have fun and study hard Higher prestige programs generally met with higher difficulty, professors are all brilliant and usually personable. Great environment, located in the middle of Austin with walking/bike/bus access to every imaginable amenity. If you're willing to put in the effort, your time and money here will be incredibly worthwhile You'll be perpetually sweaty until November. The size is isolating. A lot of people (myself included) chose UT over an Ivy due to price. If you're concerned about missing the prestige, join honors. Honors Engineering, Business, and Computer Science have Ivy-caliber kids. ...Continue reading
