    This college is so out of the way if you wanna do anything. Most good jobs are in the city, it's a pain in the ass to commute to work and then here and then home. Not much in the neighborhood, kinda ghetto. Wi-fi sucks. Mainly chain fast-food in area. People here are really antisocial, the clubs are mainly identity-based. Department admin suck. We get all the crappy professors from other schools, they don't accept any transfer credits, the administration is garbage, the neighborhood is boring, trying to take the classes you need is like pulling teeth, you need permission to take required classes.     This used to be considered the poor man's Harvard but does not live up to this reputation any longer. Worst administration I've ever experienced. So inattentive and nasty from the cashiers in the cafeteria to registrar. A negative experience from beginning to end. ...Continue reading

    I love this place... With all the knowledge I gained, and loans I have to pay. If I had to say, I'd say this school's okay. Some teach out of passion, most do if for pay.     The inside the buildings are bad, the bathrooms are disgusting, many classrooms are overcrowded. Secretaries especially, they're really rude and disrespectful and don't answer your questions. Why am I (and the state and the city) paying this much money for you to yell at me and not help me out with anything that I need?     Very rude secretaries and faculty. The Core Curriculum is a joke, the classes cater to the lowest common denominator. It's a real diploma mill. Anything but math and science is just a Women and Gender Studies class. I'm transferring ASAP. Go to Stony Brook or CCNY for science or math. ...Continue reading

    Staff really sucks here. Some great professors for a great price. You need permission for classes in your department. It is hard to get anything done with some incompetent faculty.     Involving yourself on campus and being kind to any administrators is KEY to your success. The campus is clean and conveniently located. Library is superb, and high-speed WiFi works all over the campus. Classrooms are not packed, although it is possible to take classes in big lecture halls with 60+ people.     The environment is great. Brooklyn College has a beautiful campus filled with plenty of good people and staff. If you don't put yourself out there, of course it won't meet your standards.     Brooklyn College has a lot of campus events, so its really up to you to put yourself out there. Everyone on campus is very welcoming and open. No matter how heated a class discussion/debate can get by common hours everyone is all smile. Brooklyn College challenges you and prepares you for the real world. .     The area is a ghetto bad area along with a gloomy place. The undergrad program is better than the MA The wifi is horrible, buildings are obsolete, virtually anybody can enter the campus, other students are disrespectful and rude, area is not safe at night, no food around campus, and the professors are horrible. ...Continue reading

    This school is overrated Half the toilets AND sinks don't work. Bugs, rodents, etc. running around campus. I understand big buildings with lots of occupants will have these issues. But there are so many that they're not afraid to come out w/ppl around. Most of campus close early Friday, what?! Be prepared to fend for yourself and overcome obstacles with no advisement.     Very few good teachers at this school. A lot of the teachers here should not be teaching. Go to a better school. The core requirements are horrid there is way to many. It is quite difficult to make friends, if you don't join clubs (because you have work at that time) or your not a social butterfly.     If you are majoring in psychology ,sociology, health, History, business then you will be fine . Many are restricted but you don't know so you have to go through the whole list. Many require department consent even though they're simple classes like philosophy. Most of the clubs are based on race and religion. Many of the teachers aren't that good, don't really help you. Bad school if you like science. Although the science professors are brilliant, the school does not offer nearly enough science options for you to take. No science electives in summer/winter, and for fall/spring you get 1 or maybe 2 options at best. ...Continue reading

They have so far had 3 months to process my Direct Plus Parent loan and have not been able to handle it. They don't seem to know what they are doing and they don't care either.     Brooklyn College provides an affordable education at its finest. I received such a great education and I am not in enormous debt. The science professors are excellent. The school requires the students to put in effort to succeed and it pays off in the end. There are also a lot of resources to help students, such as the Learning center, Personal Counseling, as well as professors. The chemistry department is pretty demanding but you do get an extra credit for every course. There are plenty of interesting research opportunities in multiple academic departments. People are so quick to assume that BC is a bad school because it's CUNY but those people need to talk to people who attend.     This is my third CUNY school but this is BY FAR the worst school I've been to. Every one who works in whatever office in that school is beyond rude. Every time I go in there, I come out sweating. When you call any department office phone for inquiries, they are beyond rude. I was very excited to go to this school. But after my first semester i got so frustrated i started hating it now. The staff is rude and very unhelpful. College does not send out any kind of emails to caution you or warn you about anything. All they care about is making money.     Transferring here from a community college I thought I would be walking into a better educational experience but that is not that case at all, this school is in desperate need of a makeover both in teaching and funding. They won't take much of anything and the gen ed requirements are ridiculous. Don't expect the people working to help you with anything almost everyone I have encountered were nasty and unhelpful.     I kinda love it here Learning is very interesting. Resembles an Ivy league College. Its cool when you see moies being film while going to class.
