I never thought I'd fall in love with Radford because I grew up near here. But, now I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else. The professors genuinely care and there something here for everyone. Go Highlanders! Not too big and not too small. ...Continue reading

The reputation that it's only a party school where stupid kids go is bs. It is a great size and is simply beautiful! All the buildings are great and stocked with the newest, latest technology! Class size is awesome and all the professors get to know you. ...Continue reading

Radford is a growing school, and cultivating a new reputation. This school is amazing tough for me to adjust at first, but it didn't take long for me to refer to Radford as home. I know Radford isn't UVA but it still challenges you to grow and learn. Plus, I've met some unbelievable people, friends I plan to take with me. :) I learned a lot, thanks in part to small class sizes and engaging professors. ...Continue reading

I've been at this university for almost 3 complete years now and I am very happy with my choice. Radford should definitely receive more recognition than it does. It has a beautiful location being in the mountains and right next to the river. It has the best nursing school in the state, and pretty decent food. ...Continue reading

would transfer if i could, once you have been here about a year your pretty well stuck till you graduate depending on your major. Its in the middle of nowhere and the education could be so much better. The teachers don't teach, rather they just talk. I have had to teach myself in every class that I've taken. ...Continue reading

Make sure you read the housing policy before signing and be aware they make you live on campus for 2 years with little opportunity to get off campus in that span. The professors are alright. Good networking and job opportunities. The area is very boring out in the sticks. A good school to focus. RSPACE has alot of events and activities going on. This school is okay! ...Continue reading

Radfords campus is always undergoing construction and there's plenty of room for improvement in terms of campus appearance and living. There's always construction on campus, the professors are very lax, and there's not much to do off campus unless to make the 30 minute drive to Virginia Tech. If you're in it for the parties, Raddy's your place. The school has low sense of community and overall was not a encouraging environment. If I did college over I would not go here again. ...Continue reading

Radford is a very small school, if youre looking for a big school feel this isnt the school for you. The professors challenge you, the social aspect of the university is amazing, and the campus is absolutely beautiful. I've met some of the greatest people here. No place I'd rather be. You can still get turnt up without any difficulty at any time during any day of the week, but it's still a great campus with great faculty. ...Continue reading

Radford is good for the high school student who just can't let go Its very homey, however, if you aren't in greek life you will be bored out of your mind. But that makes it okay? A lot of smart people go here, and a lot of people looking to have fun go here. The old party school rep is a ghost. I am so glad I choose Radford. It is known for being a party school, but all schools are party schools. We just do it best. It's very easy to get caught up in that hype. Love it here! The class sizes are perfect, the teachers are friendly, helpful, and have flexible office hours. They're incredibly student-oriented any research that goes on at the school is student-based with instructor guidance. It isn't the instructors pet project that they may or may not include you in on. This school has a really pretty campus and is the perfect size, not too big, not too small. Classes are sized to where you can actually get to know your classmates which is really nice. Radford University is a campus full of fun and opportunity. We were all very close in the geology department, spending many hours together outside of class. My education prepared me for the career I have today. I miss the magnolia trees on campus and sitting in the garden by the library. I have very fond memories of the entire experience. ...Continue reading

Radford like most other school's is all what you make it. Yes you can party at Radford, but you can also learn a lot, that depends on you. Personally I feel that Radford is really good for specialized courses, like a film major or a minor in martial arts. ...Continue reading

Love it here, all around great university. I thought about transferring after my first semester freshman year, but I gave it a chance and after the second semester and a change in my major I loved the school and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The choice is yours, but Radford is an amazing school for sure. ...Continue reading

I don't mind the school, but there is really nothing around it. If you don't have any friends you will literally have nothing to do. There are some bars and restaurants but it's mostly just house parties. If you aren't in the drinking scene, join clubs. There's a mall nearby and places to get jobs. WEATHER IS SO UNPREDICTABLE! The food on campus isn't all that great, since there is only like 5 options. There isn't much around the campus to eat either, just best to stay in and eat. Academically, the professors are very helpful and informative. ...Continue reading

Lalone is only recommended for those who can handle her not talking about subject matter for 3/4s of the class. She isn't very accessible and her tests cover things that were never mentioned. BORING BORING BORING!! She goes out her way to bore her students. Her test were multiple choice with the whole alphabet under one question. Whatever happened to letters a-d&#63 DO NOT TAKE HER! ...Continue reading

This course was without a doubt the most difficult I've had I college. She makes tests harder than she says she is going to, and goes against everything that says. She is disrespectful and rude when teachers ask questions, and is not willing to help. She is the worts teacher that I have ever had. Degrades people for asking questions, makes you feel stupid. Tests are ridiculos and nothing like the notes. Lectures in lab for as long as class and then do actual lab for an hour. Hates people asking questions and belittles. BUT is better than other micro teacher. ...Continue reading

Quinn is the best professor I've had so far. She made an effort to get to know me on a personal level. If you are in the Honors Academy, take her class! If you did it, you got a 100%. She attempts at getting the students involved in her lectures so it's not boring, which is a plus. She tries to get the students comfortable with each other by getting them to conversate. You have assignments due in the dropbox every week. No exams. Easy A. ...Continue reading

Honestly lectures are pointless since the work and everything's online but you have to go. She is a little bit disorganized, but she does try to correlate the material to the course subject. She was the easiest grader and always let you resubmit things. Attendance was mandatory, but class was always let out at least 30 minutes early. I would definitely take her again! ...Continue reading

She is not truthful about her grading scale. Questions? Don't, unless you want to be embarrassed & disrespected in front of the class. Grading criteria isn't clear and you will be rushed to finish the syllabus at the end of the semester. Although she drops one test and the final is optional, you're lucky to pass with a C. She will get an attitude with you when you ask a question and will be blatantly rude to you in front of class. Her tests are ridiculous and are 95% short answer and essay. Her study guides are not clear at all on what you need to be able to know for the test. DO NOT TAKE HER ...Continue reading

Mr. Palmer is not very responsive to emails, he just copies and pastes from his syllabus and doesn't answer specific questions. He makes multiple grammatical and spelling errors in his lecture slides. It's not a hard class, but if you have any questions at all he gets annoyed. I regret taking this class with Palmer, even though it's an easy A. often makes grammar mistakes in class which he asks the class for the correct spelling. Took Classical Mythology as an elective and it has been hands down the hardest class i've taken in my 3 years at Radford. Her tests are upwards of 80-85 questions and all different from one another. No study guides or help. Lectures are powerpoints with paragraphs of information on it, so it's hard to follow. Wish I dropped it first week. The tests cover a lot of material and it is difficult to determine what is going to be on the test out of 9 chapters. She has a lot of quizzes, she does not review much and is a little judgemental when a student gets a question wrong in class. ...Continue reading
