There are a lot of students here. It's an old school with a great deal of tradition. It's not super diverse, but there is diversity. I have heard many people complain about not fitting in, but it's because they don't try to, they just expect it. Facilities are clean but need upgrades. It's a conservative university, liberals will complain. ...Continue reading

Since it is a private Christian school (LDS) the students and faculty have high moral standards. Ignore all the bad comments - the people who complain the most are heard the loudest, which is so dumb. Go Cougars! ...Continue reading

BYU holds true to most every stereotype that there is about it. I had attended to other universities in the state of Utah before coming to BYU and it is by far the hardest. But it is only at BYU that I have felt myself pushed enough to where I fell like I am reaching my potential. BYU is a great university! ...Continue reading

Wonderful university. The professors are smart, kind, and fun, the campus is amazing, and there are always tons of free events going on. You can be a single student, married student, and even in a student family and still feel very much a part of BYU culture. Very spiritually uplifting. I don't want to leave! ...Continue reading

I absolutely love this school. There's always something going on, I've had great professors, and there are so many opportunities I have to restrain myself from trying to run after them all. It was a love hate relationship at times, but I just graduated. Academically it is pretty competitive, but it is so worth it. Good academics, beautiful location, but you have to have people you like to hang out with because Provo itself will not entertain you. The only problem I have: Because all BYU students mainly come from the same demographic there isn't much diversity. The culture is very judgmental, if you aren't one way, you are wrong and don't fit in. It's unfortunate. I supposedly belong to the demographic but I don't feel that I fit in. But I love the classes I've had ...Continue reading

BYU is beautiful, situated at the base of the Wasatch Mountains. People are nice, morals are high, and the professors are excellent. If you try, it's really easy to have a well-rounded college experience. I especially recommend the sporting events, the weekly campus devotionals, and clubs. Also, over 40% of students are employed on-campus, so there's lots of opportunities to work! The environment is so uplifting and there are so many professors here who want to help students succeed. There are tons of ways to get involved and lots of fun activities always going on. If you want to be able to study hard, work hard, and play hard, this is the place to be! ...Continue reading

I've enjoyed my time at BYU. Growing up I planned to attend the U, but am happy with the decision. As much as people like to generalize, not everyone here is a religious nut. Nor all they all jack-mormons. There is a good mix so whatever you're looking for, you'll find it. Parking can be a beast, so live close enough to walk. 910 would attend again. ...Continue reading

Good school overall, but it's the little things that bother you over time. Student wards feel like going to church with your friends. There are strong self-righteousness and overachiever elements to the culture. Perfect place to go to school as a white male. No good food anywhere except chik-fil-a. Nothing fun to do ever. Housing sucks. Get a private room off campus. ...Continue reading

People have different views regarding BYU because it's located in Utah and is famous for its Mormon community. Probably one of the best deals out there for the price. BYU has a hoppin social life and a lot of opportunities. The people of Utah and the students here are pretty rude. Craziest drivers ever. Good luck not getting hit walking or in a fender bender. Great, but limits your cultural understanding However, BYU has the worst culture ever. Mormon culture has made this school super uptight, judgmental, and an overall drag. That being said, there are some great professors and courses. The campus is beautiful and taken care of. ...Continue reading
