DO NOT GO TO UOM COB - Collage of Business is horrible horrible horrible, change your major if you have to but don't go to that collage. They care about professors who are involved in research making them money, and sports making them money. High emphasis on professors with tenure, putting the professor above students who go to the dean as a class with valid complaints about the lack of good education going on. Very few good professors in any major. ...Continue reading

downside: there needs to be more night patrol by officers. Many of the professors here are great at what they do and the other faculty are just as friendly. Definitely an underrated school. Many professors are amazing. Like anywhere, though, some professors are undeniably better than others. For best results, select courses taught by tenured professors. I came here for the Criminal Justice Studies program. All in all, I am satisfied with the educational experience. ...Continue reading

The school doesn't care about us. I've gone to WSU and MSU so I can say this school is better then those schools in many ways. Different departments do not communicate with each other causing problems with financing, registration and a lot more. Student advisors are poorly trained about financial matters and other major aspects of the university. Do not think this school is anywhere near U of M in Ann Arbor. ...Continue reading

It was a great experience, there are so many great opportunities here at University of Michigan-Dearborn I'm involved in many clubs, have good relationships with my professors who have helped me get interesting jobs and scholarships, and love knowing so many people on campus. This was a conscious choice to get involved though. If you don't, the school will seen very empty, cold and detached. It's definitely a commuter school. I was skeptical at first but I love it now ...Continue reading

Fantastic as far as commuter schools go. So far, it's been a very good experience. The professors are intelligent and set high standards. The campus is very safe. Kinda boring, not the college experience anybody is looking for, try not to come here. They focus on professors not on the students, they offer core classes in the morning not at all in the evening. Most of the special classes are taught only by one professor which and in most cases that is very bad for the students... This school will not care about you and your education!!! The tuition should get us better quality instructors ...Continue reading

I love going here because the university of michigan-D provides many many oppertunities that you would not imagine. The class sizes are small! I love that, I couldn't stand being in a lecture hall filled with 400people. The CASL building is really nice and new. It always smells like a fancy hotel, weird but true. It's right next to over 300 acres of well maintained nature trails. People are friendly and it's a safe campus. ...Continue reading

I love going here because the university of michigan-D provides many many oppertunities that you would not imagine. I love it, the classes are great, but the parking is absolutely awful. I have only been here one semester so far but I am very happy with my choice to transfer! The parking lot however is awful, not enough space for cars to move around comfortably, people do NOT know how the park at all, most of the time, the parking spots closest to your class or building are all packed in full. Overall though, i would have to say i like UMD. Id rate it 810 ...Continue reading

I am currently a freshman at UMD, I like the school, professors aren't bad, campus is safe. Literally only 4 options for food ON campus (Subway, Pizza, Fries, Burger) but fortunately the mall is like 1 minute away...NOT good if you want the REAL COLLEGE EXPERIENCE. Small campus. Its alright overall. A lot of the teachers arent very good though i.e. the fourth floor of the library is a no-talking zone. Also, the speed limit is 15 mph on most parts of campus. I thought there would be a larger difference but mostly I've only noticed the price difference. A lot of students still fail to contribute on the group projects and the professors mostly just read slides and follow the book for all material. Maybe it's not as bad if you start and finish here. I mean, you shouldn't come here if you're expecting anything other than a commuter school. Much like any school, some teachers are good, some are bad. Go to orientation, clubs, events, etc. I agree with the whole benefits thing as well. Make friends, enjoy your time, and give YOURSELF that great college experience. ...Continue reading

Engineering department is bad , they don't care about student needs A lot of bed professors too , check ECE 270 for example Fees are outrageous Recommend anything else Do yourself a favor and attend a community college, save your money, improve your GPA, actually learn something, and then go to Ann Arbor. The teaching hear is sub-par at best. The natural science profs (who think they're God) frown upon pre-health students and favor students going into research as a career. Avoid UMD until as late in the game as possible (transfer in as a junior) ...Continue reading

School only cares about money and not about its students. It's primarily a commuting university, but it's afternoon/evening and online class lists are extremely limited and pretty much nonexistent. ...Continue reading

Fun to walk around campus. People in financial aid probably don't do anything except recite what is already there on the internet, and those in the registration office are rude so you wouldn't want to go there. Food is terrible. Only good thing I'd say is that the professors are kind and smart. ...Continue reading

The people who complain are probably the people who don't spend much time here. It's very me. I'm the type of person who doesn't really care about the social stuff. Campus is really pretty, and the faculty is really nice. The wifi here is really good now. The cafeteria food is ridiculously over priced for the quantity that you get, but I guess that's the case for most colleges. ...Continue reading

The campus is beautiful, particularly in the spring, but it is small. Small campus with small class sizes. There's not much to do here and it doesn't fulfill my social needs. No social life, seems like people go in this school and leave. Library is a mess. school has some great teachers. Reminds me of high school. ...Continue reading

The people are kind of rude, there are shootings at the mall across the street all the time. upside: so far ive been in classes that had the funniest, understanding, yet challenging. All teaachers here want you to excel, but will make you work for it. At the end of the day, a globally recognized University, like U of M, cannot be basic. School with great reputation ...Continue reading

I loved my time here at UMD. They have so many opportunities and so many active clubs. SAB has so many things happening on activities I really enjoy. It has some pretty hardcore courses but I can handle that. I like it and the people here ...Continue reading

Even if you have to take crappy classes, the teachers are still wonderful. Administration needs to either build more parking or stop accepting 2,000 new freshmen a year. Lots of research opportunities. Generally nice professors but some bad eggs need to have their tenure revoked. ...Continue reading

It is one of the worst schools in Engineering around. There is a very obvious lack of a large campus social environment, like one you would find at Ann Arbor or MSU. Parking is a hassle and it's hard to make friends. If you're looking for a lively campus, a true college experience, you can cross UMD off your watch list. ...Continue reading

public transport is not available. If you plan on attending UMD, make sure you are committed to putting in many hours. Professors make it incredibly difficult to get good grades. Not impossible (although it may seem like it sometimes). COB campus is way less busy than main campus. They provide a lot of professional opportunities and the professors are good overall. Campus is very nice and the facilities are decent. Everything else is about average. If you are looking for a more academia vibe, go to UM Ann Arbor. ...Continue reading

The College is amazing. The students and faculty are extremely helpful and respectful. At first I wasn't going to attend because I wanted a larger campus than UMD has, but Im glad I decided to come. Classes are a 5-10 minute walk from each other, and thats especially helpful in the winter. ...Continue reading

It's a commuter school, but the education is great and the experience can be as good or as bad as you make it. Get ready to walk because your classes will be spread out. The campus isn't too big but they're just far enough apart to be a pain. Cafe is terrible, but there's starbucks. ...Continue reading

A good university to go to if you are career focused rather than academia focused. The administration is completely useless - financial aid, academic services, office of student enrollment, bad. Getting a job at a reputable firm outside the big three is a self-realized effort. But, I think this school is pretty great. Students are friendly, professors are exceptional. My only complaint is that parking can be an absolute nightmare. Unless, you're into the whole stalking students for their parking spots thing. ...Continue reading

As a freshman this place made me feel like it was home, I was active my first semester so I made cool friends with some of the same interests. All other aspects of the university are far above average in my book. I recommend this school to anyone looking for a quality education experience. ...Continue reading
