Love Chattanooga, love this school. After attending UT Knoxville for one semester I came back to Chattanooga to give UTC a try...and I LOVE IT! I actually work for UTC and get to see behind the scenes and UTC faculty really care! The professors want students to succeed, the campus is safe and fun, and the students here have a desire to learn. LOVE UTC! I love it so much, but the campus is currently undergoing quite a bit of construction. The current library is sinking and sidewalks are being repaired. The Campus Crossroads is pretty gross, but Java City and the fast food places in the UC are pretty good. Don't live on South Campus unless you love walking. ...Continue reading

Love the location, my department is pretty good (biology/environmental science/geology), and the school as a whole is ok. I really don't like the lack of organic/natural food options and it's especially limiting if you're vegetarian/vegan. Not too big and not too small. Class sizes are great, some gen ed courses are going to be the average large size. But it's easy to get to know professors. Tons to do within campus if you choose. There are a lot of things that need to be revised and changed within the art department. I must say I am more impressed with it than I thought I would be. I do feel like I sort of miss out on the true college experience because most students are commuters. If I wasn't from this area I wouldn't pay money to attend this university. Everything about the place is meh. Students come here for the city, not the school. The city is beautiful and fun, the school is not up to par. Professor's tenure is so easy to get, that they don't care about yo. Students have no voice in what happens. You pay outlandish prices for parking passes, then don't have any place to park. I truly regret coming to UTC. Transferring to MTSU was the best decision. ...Continue reading

There are a lot of things that need to be revised and changed within the art department. I must say I am more impressed with it than I thought I would be. I do feel like I sort of miss out on the true college experience because most students are commuters. If I wasn't from this area I wouldn't pay money to attend this university. Many of the professors have very negative opinions of the school which doesn't do much for student moral. For such a large university they are very limited in the number of classes that they offer. ...Continue reading

I love UTC way more than I ever expected. On campus food options are expanding and the buildings are being renovated! It all just gets better from here. Some professors are ehh but others treat you like family. You can't go wrong choosing UTC! It's given me so many options and opened so many doors for me. ...Continue reading

Professor Jeffers is a horrible communicator which makes this class difficult because it is online. She do not respond back to email and is EXTREMELY RUDE! It is an easy online class when she isn't being unfair. You will have to buy the online book and do all the learn smarts and practice test. Also complete 10 discussion boards and go to two plays ...Continue reading

Dr. Trivette is a great teacher, and I would recommend him to any student that needs to take a sociology class. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you go he gives you extra credit that works in your favor at the end of the school year. ...Continue reading

Professor White is one of the worse professors I've had at this University. I took her for MGT2120 ONLINE and had family issues earlier in the semester. I needed 1.36 points to obtain a C and she gave me a D. She has no heart and doesn't care about people. She is worried about a check and that is it. Don't take her! ...Continue reading

I did not enjoy this one bit. I did not feel like I learned anything. All he did was lecture concepts which did not help for the online homework and quizzes which are a quarter of your grade. He gives one take home test before the midterm and squeezes the other 3 in the last 4 weeks. This should have been my easy class and it is my lowest grade. ...Continue reading

Did not do notebook checks in CHEM1110 spring 2017 semester. You have 4 tests and a cumulative final thats doubled. She doesn't give tests back to study for the final, the only homework she gives is 2 notebook checks, and she doesn't give any quizzes or extra credit. The only grades are from the tests, so theres no way to pull up your grade if you do poorly on one. She doesn't explain things very well and isn't helpful when asked questions. If you take her, be prepared to use the textbook REGULARLY. ...Continue reading

Professor Morgan cares about this class, but he is very unstructured which drives someone like me crazy. There's 4 take-home tests and 2 open-note tests in class. Lots of homework on Stat Lab which is time consuming. When he gives you a deadline, you can count on it being extended at least 2 weeks past when he says. there are 4 Take Home Tests and he gives 2 of them within the last 2 weeks of the semester, so if you get stressed like me, it is a disaster. ...Continue reading

Professor Bonnal is a good teacher. Keep up with the homework assignments or you will not pass. He relies heavily on exams and the final is 40% of your final grade. I would recommend taking him if you are a good test taker. I was apart of his guinea pig REVEL class this semester so technical difficulties were a huge problem with the software, but was a good class nonetheless. You basically have HW once a week, Quizzes do not count towards your grade and you have 2 tests and 1 final exam. Attendance is not mandatory. ...Continue reading

He is exceptionally smart in Economics but has trouble simplifying the concepts and can easily lose students. Taking him now and so far he has not done well teaching. He can read the slides that another teacher gave to him, but thats about it. Gave a study guide for each test, the first one was a big help and the second one was nowhere close to the test. Terrible examples to real life. Talks about other countries' economies too much. His lectures provide solid concepts in which you can understand the basic concepts on Macro by. However, the tests are open notes (which sounds great), but since they are open notes the basic information from the book/notes doesn't help. ...Continue reading

Professor Stimson knows a great deal about Chemistry but doesn't do well with conveying the information. The tutoring taught me more in 30 minutes than she did in an entire semester. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! You will regret your decision She never explains anything. If you aren't a genius in chemistry then she doesn't waste her time trying to help you. Knowledgeable, but not that great of a teacher. His lectures are very boring as he reads directly from slides. He will help if you ask for it, but be prepared for him to be sort of rude or try to flip your question around on you and just kind of laugh. Grades are slim: 4 exams, final, and HW (a lot of it). He also does not believe in extra credit. ...Continue reading
