The cafe close at 9, and they are huge experimental foods (disgusting). It seems to be a better fit for everyone else. If I stayed in Nashville it would be for the Nashville experience not Lipscomb. Campus is always pretty. The dorms are clean, but it's burning up in the winter and no air conditioning when the heat's been turned on for the building. Chapel credits are really easy to get as long as you actually try. ...Continue reading

Lipscomb has its ups and downs, but they definitely let some students fall through the cracks. The administration is a bit shady, though. They've used the name of God to say some pretty hateful things, and they seem to be highly money-oriented. But the students and the faculty are top-notch enough to balance it out. ...Continue reading

The school is beautiful, and the academics are great as well. The Campus is smaller than other Campuses around, which I like because I have easy access to my professors. I really love being in Nashville but the school was just okay, nothing bad and nothing spectacular. Curfews, alcohol/tobacco rules, media regulations and other rules can make any student from a more accepting environments feel ignored. The professors do an excellent job I am speaking from a legislative level. Most of the restaurants in the food court close between 7:30 PM and 8 PM. The temperature in Swang is always hot and humid. It is a beautiful campus. Needs a bit more diversity though and inclusion of all the students. ...Continue reading

Not the university for you if you want your education to be the top priority. They do not want to change the way it currently is even though statistics show they need change. 62% nclex pass rate in 2012 and 65% pass rate in 2013. Faculty is uneducated and do not care about the students. All other aspects about LU were great though. Just dont get your BSN here. I transferred after one semester because as involved as I tried to be, I couldn't have enough time for class if I was actually involved. Professors were NOT helpful, they consider you a six year old who needs to be told about God every 1.2 seconds, everyone on campus is a snob, but hey, they have good food. ...Continue reading

Dr. Privett is hard, yes, but the classes he teaches are inherently difficult. If you put the effort in (which if you want to actually work in the sciences or medicine you kinda have to do that...) then you will do fine. He is very accessible to students and I never feel rushed with him. He gives good feedback and works hard to ensure you learn. ...Continue reading

I am a business major, I don't like science. I made sure I stayed away from science classes. My final semester before graduating I had no choice. I can't tell you enough how professor Tamera Klingbyll is a gem! She is loving, so kind and fun. If you are thinking of Biology go to her class. You will never be disappointed! If you miss class or lab she will give you opportunities to make it up and then some. The tests are somewhat difficult and cover a lot of material. Dr Magnusson is an awesome person. She's super kind and loves her students and teaching. Her class wasn't so great. It was SO MUCH homework, and hard tests, but she always curves the tests. The lectures were boring, and she just read off the slides. She's an awesome person and I'd like to take a different class with her, just not Abnormal Psych. She is super smart and has a lot of experience in the world. If you are uncomfortable speaking in front of a class and want a class that forces you to get over that fear then I recommend taking her courses. Once understood what she is looking for on her essay tests you will be ok ...Continue reading

Super funny and makes class interesting. Some people probably take offense to his wit and honesty, since he is just a quirky guy, but he is great. He takes everyone out for coffee at the beginning of the year and says you can't talk about school cuz he wants to know us. He is amazing! Best seminar ever He uses sarcasm, so if you are easily offended maybe not the best choice. Class was interesting and I enjoyed participating. He likes students to think outside the box. ...Continue reading

I took him both semesters freshman yr&I don't agree with these ratings. There are daily quizzes and hw assignments. His class is hard, but not impossible. the best way to learn the material is to do lots of the hw problems he does seem to get frustrated with you if you aren't getting it right away & goes pretty fast, but. he's a great professor. He cares about you and wants you to pass. There is a ton of mymathlabs, tests & quizzes but they're exactly like the problems he goes over in class. ...Continue reading

DO NOT TAKE HIM. He is the only teacher I have ever had who can further confuse me on a topic after a lecture on it. He thinks that math must be done his way, for instance I failed multiple quizzes even though the problems that were counted wrong had the right answers. Stay away, worst professor i've ever had. Saddly, I need Calculus to get my degree. I could not understand what was going on, and by the time I understood...it was too late. If you have had calc before, you might survive,... ...Continue reading

Dr. Magnusson is so nice and understanding to her students. Lectures could get long, and much of classes were spent simply discussing and hearing others' opinions. He is a hard professor you'll be teaching most of the information by yourself. I recommend to take College Algebra with someone else or get help from someone is good at this subject. I'm currently struggling to receive a C by the end of the semester. His class is unorganized. He will confuse you even more than you already are, and he can't teach to save his life. He cuts you off when you try to ask questions and goes through problems at lightning speed. Definitely not recommended. ...Continue reading

I struggled with algebra when I took it in high school, but she is so patient and helpful. She works lots of problems out on the board, and the notes are always online. Claude Michael Williams thinks he's God's gift to students. Asked for help multiple times and was not given it. A lot of busy work. He knows his material but presents it in an awful way. Test are pretty hard and most questions were not on study guide. Do not take him. Worst part is the busy work, for being a required class there is way to much outside work that is graded to obnoxious standards. He allows for no creativity and all of the assignments are absolutely dull. Not recommended. ...Continue reading

Really unfair in the way he gives tests. Bio is hard enough, why make the tests a level below med school? Not someone approachable for help. ...Continue reading

As a preface, Professor Mankin is a wonderful individual. He really cares about his students and is very accessible. That being said, he simply cannot teach accounting. Dr. Privett is hard, yes, but the classes he teaches are inherently difficult.
