Ahh ok I guess. Theres tons of parties, but everyone usually comes back reporting them as lame Crowded and not what they expected. The actual campus is pretty is some areas (There's a BEAUTIFUL bayou running through campus) however some areas are a bit ugly. Most of the buildings are old and smell funny, the newest building is the library. The Greater Monroe Area models all of the charming and repulsive qualities of the South. If you are a prospective student, rethink this. I came because I come from a lower income family, and it was this or UL. After I turned down UL scholarships, this was closer, but I received the same amount in scholarships. I regret coming here because everyone seems already set with their friends, plus no one seems to care, professors or students. Inferior in it's academic demand, dishonest in it's execution (PhD-MFT-distance), deceptive, and of overall low quality and integrity. Not too bad, but definitely the class I studied for most. He mostly reads from the slides and posts those on moodle so memorize them and you'll be good for the tests. Fast grader and pretty nice but he has a weird temper sometimes. DON'T PACK UP BEFORE DISMISSED. Gave good extra credit and replaced a test grade. Tests are all multiple choice and come from more than just the powerpoint lectures. However, he is extremely generous with giving bonus to bring up grades. ...Continue reading

This class was one of the best classes I have ever taken at ULM. She knows what she is talking about when it comes to communication because she was a US Assistant District Attorney. Garvey was an amazing professor! Very intelligent I loved his class! He challenges you to think and all the work was online! Recommend! You also can get extra credit by taking surveys. ...Continue reading

Attendance is only mandatory or else you will fail but other than that, this class could really be an online class. I really enjoyed this class! I usually study by reading the power points and doing the study breaks in the book the night before the test, and I have an A in there. He gives a lot of bonus, and he's pretty funny and kind of good looking. I find his lectures to be interesting, but I've seen people doze off in there. It's so nice to be going through slides for a test and he'll pop in something unexpected to make me laugh. He's a nice and funny guy. Only problem is the exam grades are the ONLY grades in the class, so you gotta study. Extra credit surveys are given. My advice: listen in class and use quizzes at end of chapters. ...Continue reading

I love Dr. K! She moves quick but is very clear with what she goes over. Her tests are more than fair for the material. If you take good notes and study the class isn't hard at all. She teaches with a style that makes you learn the material rather than just memorizing it. She really prepares you to move on. Loved her class. Must take. Tests are very hard she uses odd wording and likes to use visuals. Random homework and pop quizzes. Must study often, but a good teacher to take if you really want to understand Biology. ...Continue reading

I have mixed feelings on Seeber. One one hand, I learned the material better than any math teacher before. On the other hand, she's the toughest grader I've ever come across, and the material was utterly frustrating at times. She often seemed cold and unapproachable, and I would (rightfully so) be scared to ask a question in class. ...Continue reading

She took over for Dr. McCown and I was not sure what to expect, but she is a very good professor. She always made classes interesting and I never wanted to miss because she made my days better when I had her. She gave us a lot of bonus opportunities as well as opening up quizzes on connect that we may have missed from earlier in the semester. Easy A! I'd definitely take her again! ...Continue reading

Do not take! I can't stress this enough! He's a nice guy but an awful teacher. He doesn't give enough time for the tests, and he asks questions that are way beyond the lectures. It's almost impossible to make a decent grade on exams. This should be a straightforward class, but it is anything but that. ...Continue reading

Dr. Garlapati is teaching a low level class with more detail than necessary. He does not post most grades, therefore students have no way of calculating their grade. He gives study guides for the tests however, they are not an accurate guide for the exams. Exams are anything but straightforward and are very difficult. I will not take him again. ...Continue reading

Only for Students who wants to learn. Honestly, she is probably one of the best math teachers I've ever had. She has a bad rep, but at the end of the day if you come to class and do your homework, you'll be just fine! She's always willing to spend time in class for homework questions and if you need extra time will see you during office hours! ...Continue reading

This class was not hard at all, I think we had 4 tests, MindTap, some forums, & 2 assignments? They were all common sense, especially if you read your book at all. MindTap was required for the first time in this class, so he was lenient with us. He curved every single test. There is no reason anyone should fail this class with a little initiative. ...Continue reading

Dr. Overturf taught me for BIOL 1020 and he was pretty rough. His lectures aren't very interesting, and his tests really make you think. However, he does give points for extra credit. This class was one of the best classes I have ever taken at ULM. She knows what she is talking about when it comes to communication because she was a US Assistant District Attorney. The tests are similar to the in-class quizzes. Be sure to bring in rough drafts & ask questions about them because she will suggest how to fix them for the final draft. She grades pretty hard ...Continue reading

He does not take attendance which is nice. He doesn't seem to know what he's talking about or care for that matter. He was very hard to get in touch with as he wouldn't answer his email. Garvey was an amazing professor! Very intelligent I loved his class! He challenges you to think and all the work was online! Recommend! Garvey was hilarious, and the subject itself was very interesting. You could easily pass just by using the slides, but the class is a lot more fun if you read the textbook. You also can get extra credit by taking surveys. ...Continue reading

Attendance is only mandatory or else you will fail but other than that, this class could really be an online class. I wouldn't take this teacher if you actually wanted to learn because he hardly ever stays on track when talking about a subject. Great teacher. Can sometimes be a little scattered brained. I enjoyed her lectures and would recommend this professor. Tests are basically straight from notes. This class consisted of her reading from a pre-made power point every day. You have a solo presentation, a group presentation, three tests online, and a BUNCH of online quizzes. Dr. Garvey is an interesting fellow. Expects you to read the chapter before class instead of just telling you what it means like hes supposed to. Dr. Humphries cares enough to want students to attend class and learn the material as she knows from employment experience.
