I'm just finishing my freshman year at VSU and I suggest you stay in the South Side of campus where Patterson, Lowndes and Brown dorms are if you are an incoming freshman. Great school it feels big enough to feel like a college but small enough to where you feel like an actual part of the university. Easy to make friends and meet new people! ...Continue reading

VSU is not the best school. No where else I would rather be :) They lie to you, give you crap to study thats not even on the tests, and put irrelevant things to the subject of the class on tests. For example there were racism questions in my biology final???? Why? Who knows, but i will never make the mistake to take that professor again and I recommend no one else does. ...Continue reading

I genuinely enjoy life here at VSU. This University has a variety of fields to pursue with an excellent faculty. Your time at VSU is what you make of it, currently there are a lot of staff vacancies that need to be filled. It is a perpetual construction zone, and has been during my whole 3.5 years here. The classroom equipment is out of date, the library collections online are behind by at least 3-6 years. Forget books, half the shelves are empty. NOT recommended for learners. ...Continue reading

There is no food option open after 12 am on main campus. Since the campus in enclosed, you may get tired of seeing the SAME people, SAME places, SAME every day motions. I have recently transferred but it is a great school! Administration tends to not care about what student movements that are going on or what is happening to the student body. Palms dining hall is a joke. I have nothing else to say about that. There is not any kind of emphasis on the arts at this school nor are they presented in a positive light at all. ...Continue reading

Valdosta is an okay school. I will be pursuing a Masters degree once I finish my undergraduate but it won't be here. If you have another option to attend somewhere else, I'd take it. The safety here is awful too. Lots of muggings lately, the area around campus is bad. ...Continue reading

I really love it here Valdosta might not be the greatest city but if you really look there are plenty of things to do and lots of opportunities for growth. If you give up on the school after just 1 year you'll miss out on a lot. Get involved, leave your comfort zone, and sooner or later you'll meet awesome people. It takes time but it's worth it I think this school has so much to offer, and a lot of students don't take advantage of all there is to do at this university. Aesthetically Valdosta has a gorgeous campus, and a majority of the students and professors are so wonderful and interesting. ...Continue reading
